The Inspiration
Two girls and a boy is the brain child of owners Beth Bacheldor
and Amy Black.
It all began
with the births of, well, two girls and boy – namely Eliana, Saijai, and
Griffin. Their moms, Amy, Ann, and Beth (respectively), had met in a birthing
class and became fast friends.
After a few mommy-and-baby play dates, Amy and Beth decided to
open a boutique that would offer the kinds of products for mommies
and babies that supported their parenting ideals. (Ann, Saijai’s
mom, decided to stick with her job as a high school teacher, but
often offered up great ideas and support!)
With Amy’s financial wizardry and eye for detail, and Beth’s
creative wordsmithing and love of fashion, along with time the two
spent living and traveling in Europe and loving all the high-quality,
unique toys over there (particularly the German wooden toys), two
girls and a boy had all the right ingredients to deliver just the
right shop for a wide variety of clientele: new moms, old hats,
grandparents who can’t spoil too much, and all the folks who
love to buy something unique to welcome a little babe into this
world.
Then, of course, there’s the inspiration (and heart and soul) of two
girls and a boy – Eliana and Griffin. These two cheer on the owners every
day, and have spent many an hour playing and sleeping and wreaking havoc within
the four walls of two girls and a boy! And they try on and test just about every
piece of clothing, pair of shoes, and toy that lands on the shelves of two girls
and a boy. If it passes muster with them, Beth and Amy figure it’ll be a
hit with others as well.
